I know these things.
I love these people
I’m not sure why, but I think I ship Arthur/Karen’s friendship more than Matt/Karen’s marriage friendship.

This might be over-analyzing just a BIT too far but…
Has anyone else noticed a motif of “stairs” in Doctor Who? Particularly Season 6?
There’s still that staircase to nowhere in Amy Pond’s house (it’s only two stories with no attic from the outside, but three stories on the inside?)
In Night Terrors, they fight the dolls off on stairs.
The first time we see The Doctor, Amy, and Rory in The God Complex, they are on a stair case.
In The Lodger, there is a staircase leading up to the perception-filter-ed upper floor.
There’s a cut of The Doctor looking up the stairs in Closing Time.
There are loads of other scenes with stairs (climbing the towers in Vampires in Venice, the upper level in The Almost People, The Doctor descending the stairs in Let’s Kill Hitler, climbing the stairs in the British Museum in Vincent and The Doctor, etc) but I thought these were the most obvious. Clearly, not EVERY staircase means something, that would be like going crazy every time you see a pair of shoes in Doctor Who. I just feel that sometimes there is specific emphasis on stairs in certain shots and important scenes that occur on stairs.
There have also been several occurances of elevators (lifts) leading to places they shouldn’t (a la Night Terrors, Closing Time, etc).
It’s probably over-analyzing, but I think it’s interesting!

Thoughts 12: Closing Time
Ah this was one of the best episodes all season! I missed having funny episodes, since the last three were scary, sad, scary and sad.

Thought 1: CRAIG CRAIG CRAIG CRAIG
Thought 2: Stormageddon, Dark Lord of All for next companion! His first word was Doctor LOL.
Thought 3: So the hat that we saw in The Impossible Astronaut was Craig’s all along D:
Thought 4: When I saw Amy and Rory, I almost broke down. That was super sad, but cute. The Doctor looked like he hadn’t seen them in a long time.
Thought 5: I’m a tad bit confused. I always thought this whole time that the tweed coat Doctor was the Doctor who dies (because I’m pretty sure that there are two Doctors, and one of them is probably flesh), but now green coat Doctor gets the stetson? But in The Impossible Astronaut he is wearing tweed! WHAT IS HAPPENING TO MY WELL-CONSTRUCTED HEAD CANONS.
Thought 6: The reflection in this episode was the mirror. Still wondering what is going to happen with the reflections, I wonder if it has to do with this season or the next.
Thought 7: Doctor, stick to companion. Partner doesn’t suit you. (BUT ALL THE “PARTNER” JOKES KILLED ME)
Thought 8: I want to buy Petrichor, the perfume endorsed by Amy Pond. Seriously though, BBC better come out with it.

I’m VERY nervous about next weeks episode. I feel like it is going to make me unhappy. I just want this whole series arc to be wrapped up in a nice big bow, but I feel that there are too many unanswered questions to be resolved in one episode! I’m willing to give Moffat the benefit of the doubt, I hope he pulls through!

Ode to The Ponds
The Legs and The Nose,
Everyone companion knows
That their time will always come.
———
So now that you’re done,
Be happy you’ve won
The best exit they’ve ever had.
———
It may have been short
But it’s death that you thwart,
And sadness and pain and betrayal.
———
And what good times you’ve had!
The good and the bad,
Adventures, stories to share.
———
The waiting was hard,
But don’t disregard,
The people you helped on the way.
———
Your child was lost,
And now you feel tossed,
But you’re as best as the rest have been.
———
In Leadworth and Rome,
Now it’s time to go home
But know you’ll be truly missed
———
Your story’s not done,
Though The Doctor has run,
It’s the Ponds that we’ll always be fond of.

He’s saving us
Thoughts 11: The God Complex
WHY!?

Thought 1: This was so full of foreshadowing and motifs. The reflections were rampant in this episode, and it was full of predicting The Doctor’s death.
Thought 2: So the bull thing was pretty much another star whale.
Thought 3: I’m pretty sure that when The Doctor walks back into the TARDIS, he is going to Lake Silencio.
Thought 4: I wish they had shown us what was in The Doctor’s room, but I think it was himself.
Thought 5: When Amy lost faith in The Doctor, all the cries.
Thought 6: Of course, they killed the blogger. Go figure…
Thought 7: “Amy Williams…” DIED. DIED. DIED.
Thought 8: I was NOT expecting this, I was ready for two more episodes with them. I’m really, really sad.
Thought 9: So again, pretty obviously, this was the flesh doctor again. He had the rubix cube, when he looked through the peep hole, he looked “fleshy”, he had the tweed coat, etc.

So I REALLY didn’t see this coming. I’m so sad, I’ll miss Amy and Rory. Looking forward to seeing Craig again in the next episode, I love Craig. Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to go cry some more.
Thoughts 10: The Girl Who Waited
Brb, sobbing.

Thought 1: White rooms creep me out on principle.
Thought 2: So do buttons (buttons are never good).
Thought 3: My adoration for Rory tripled about 70,000,000,000 x’s over.
Thought 4: The hipster glasses. Enough said.
Thought 5: This episode was so sad. I don’t think I’ve cried as hard since Ten’s regeneration. The doomsday-type-thing at the end made me a LITTLE uncomfortable at first, but I’ve finally decided I liked it.
Thought 6: TWITTER. What is it with The Doctor and his annoyance with social networking!?
Thought 7: I thought The Doctor was very realistic in this episode. He has to make tough decisions, even if they seem cruel at first. He has lived a long time and seen and done a lot of terrible things, it’s only natural that he behaves the way he did.
Thought 8: I really liked older Amy. I think she was very real. Karen’s acting was BRILLIANT. I learned to like Amy a LOT more in this episode than ever before (I’ve always liked Amy but not loved her. This episode changed things a bit).
Thought 9: I was really worried the episode was going to be sexist and more of a “oh no you’re ugly and old now Amy! Gross, where’s young and pretty Amy?”, but I think it was handled fabulously.
Thought 10: RORY. I JUST HAVE A LOT OF FEELINGS. (most of them being love for you)
Thought 11: Maybe I’m looking into things a bit too deeply, but in one of the shots where The Doctor was talking to Amy and Rory from the glasses, I thought he looked around behind him a little startled. Silence, perhaps? I might just be crazy, though.
Thought 12: I missed having standalone episodes, I liked this.
Thought 13: All the awards for Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill.

Still sobbing.
Next episode looks a bit weird? But hopefully in a good way. Clown’s freak me out a bit, let’s see how that goes. Sorry if this “thoughts” wasn’t extremely coherent, it’s hard to type through tears.
