This a blog dedicated to all things New Who. It is not a personal blog. It is run by professional Whovian Rebecca. It consists mainly of photos, videos, and quotes, however there are often articles as well. Every week a Doctor Who trivia contest is thrown, the reward being a promotion of the winners blog on this blog and a donation to the winners charity of choice. Equal attention is given to both RTD-Who and Moffat-Who. Enjoy!

I just had a nasty thought.

We’ve always assumed that River is the narrator in the “Tick Tock” song. But halfway through the song, the narration appears to switch, referring to River in the third person:

Beginning:

Tick tock goes the clock
And what now shall we play?
Tick tock until the day
That thou shalt marry me

When Narration Switches:

Tick tock goes the clock
He cradled her and he rocked her
Tick tock goes the clock
Even for the Doctor

Maybe the narrator isn’t River to the Doctor. Maybe it’s Amy and Rory.

This line (Tick tock until the day, That thou shalt marry me) could be referring to Amy and Rory’s wedding, which we know is a bit Timey Wimey (several theories imply that The Doctor went to the Pond’s wedding either before or after he was dying, which is why he changed into a tux).

Also, the line “We laughed at fate and mourned her” could apply to the way Amy and Rory often beat the odds, and also to the loss of their baby. Again with “He cradled and he rocked her”.

I REALLY hope, however, the narrators aren’t Amy and Rory, because there is that nasty little line that says “Tick tock and all too soon, you and I must die”.

I should mention that I’m just having fun here; I enjoy over-analyzing stuff. It’s a bit chilling though, isn’t it?

When River Song shoots at herself in the astronaut suit in The Impossible Astronaut, is it murder or suicide?

To My Followers Who Don’t Know What Doctor Who Is…

iamsonotahipster:

…I can understand why you’d be confused. What is Doctor Who? What Genre? Is it a medical show? Who is Doctor Who? Is he a Mr. Who that is a Doctor? And why are there 3 (or more) of him? And why do the supporting characters keep changing?

I will try my best to elaborate on my favorite show briefly.

Doctor Who is a British murder mystery, a science fiction, comedy, fantasy, medical show, crime-scene drama, historical fiction, romance, fairy tale, musical, and sitcom.

Sometimes it is about creatures from another world, sometimes it is about the love between the main characters, other times it’s a story about family, and occasionally it is about Shakespeare.

The main character is a ridiculous man called The Doctor (just The Doctor). He has no name. That is the reason for the show’s title.

“Hello, I’m The Doctor.”

“Doctor who?”

He is a time traveler and an alien. When he dies, he gets a new body. He is currently on his 11th life (he typically gets younger with each regeneration).

NINE

TEN

ELEVEN

He gets very lonely, because his planet is destroyed, and he is the last of his kind. He makes friends, often referred to as his companions, and travels with them. The most recent are Rose Tyler (whom he fell in love with but lost), Captain Jack (a bisexual con-man from the future), Martha Jones (a friend who fancied him, but he did not reciprocate), Donna Noble (his absolute best friend in the universe), Amy Pond (who thought The Doctor was her imaginary friend when she was little), Rory Williams (Amy’s boyfriend now husband), and River Song (no one knows who she is). Currently he travels with Amy and Rory, with River showing up occasionally.

[The (tenth) Doctor and Rose ^]

Oh and his spaceship/time machine is a bigger-on-the-inside British Police Public Call Box from the 1960’s called the TARDIS (Time And Relative Dimensions In Space)

That was a VERY brief summary. Season 1 starts with Nine, Season 2 through 4 is Ten, and Season 5 and 6 so far is Eleven. It is a very funny, touching show and I encourage you to give it a shot (with an open mind, because it is VERY strange, I’ll admit it).

Thoughts 8: Let’s Kill Hitler

I LOVED the first part of this episode, and I thought the second half was OK. I wish there had been more of the 1930’s, but I expected there wouldn’t be. Rory was fabulous.

Thought 1: So THAT’S how crop circles are made!

Thought 2: I’m a little disappointed we didn’t see more of this regeneration of Melody Pond, I liked her. We’ll probably see her in The Girl Who Waited.

Thought 3: A lot of Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead answers. We now know when The Doctor can say his name (only in death). We now also know why River didn’t regenerate in the library when she was killed.

Thought 4: They left Hitler in the cupboard.

Thought 5: If The Silence is a religion, then who is the leader, and WHAT are those aliens we meet in The Impossible Astronaut and Day of the Moon? A new species?

Thought 6: If River killed The Doctor while in the astronaut suit as a child, how come she is trying to kill him in her second regeneration? Maybe it’s NOT The Doctor she kills, and maybe she’s not the person/thing in the astronaut suit at Lake Silencio. But didn’t the people in the robot say she was a war criminal for killing The Doctor? HELP.

Thought 7: “So I’m trapped inside a giant, punishing version version of my wife, I’m trying not to see this as a metaphor.” OH MY GOD RORY.

Thought 8: Rory had a LOAD of great moments in this episode. His sexuality was questioned, he was forgotten multiple times during hide and seek, AND he punched Hitler and told him to shut up. He’s my hero.

Thought 9: How come River didn’t get poisoned when the poison was on her lips?

Thought 10: What is the question The Silence believe will make silence fall? Is it Doctor who? (btw LOVED when The Doctor said that, I don’t think I’ve ever heard HIM say it)

Thought 11: I didn’t like that the only reaction The Doctor had to his former companions was “guilty!”. He was only thinking about himself, and I was a bit disappointed in him.

Thought 12: I’m a bit confused on Melodies relationship with The Doctor. She seems to have spent her whole life promoting and defending The Doctor, but the moment she meets him, she tries to kill him? Also, she seemed to pretty quickly go from “DIE DOCTOR DIE” to “Oh I admire you so, don’t die!”. Wut.

I’m really looking forward to the next episode, I love the scary ones/stand-alone ones!

Thanks to Stephy for watching the episode with me and giving me good ideas! :D
