This a blog dedicated to all things New Who. It is not a personal blog. It is run by professional Whovian Rebecca. It consists mainly of photos, videos, and quotes, however there are often articles as well. Every week a Doctor Who trivia contest is thrown, the reward being a promotion of the winners blog on this blog and a donation to the winners charity of choice. Equal attention is given to both RTD-Who and Moffat-Who. Enjoy!
Heck Ya Doctor Who

Rory Williams is technically older than the Doctor.

Guys, I have decided I want a Rory Williams action figure.

Except there aren’t any. So I suggest we do what Whovians do best and raise a little hell about it. I found this Facebook page here, so you can like it if you so desire. I am going to write a letter to BBC requesting one as well.

30 Days of the Ponds Day 6: Favorite Rory Moment

iamsonotahipster:

(this is an IMPOSSIBLE choice, so I just chose one out of my top million)

HOW ABOUT WHEN HE PUNCHES HITLER.

Ugh, he’s so awesome it makes me sick.

Congratulations to Rory Williams, who survived entire second half of Doctor Who series 6!

30 Days of the Ponds Day 4: Favorite Season 6 Episode

iamsonotahipster:

(again, assuming this means my favorite Pro-Pond episode)

THE GIRL WHO WAITED.

This episode gets ALL THE CRYS

30 Days of the Ponds Day 3: Favorite Season 5 Episode

iamsonotahipster:

I’m assuming this means my favorite Pro-Pond episode of Season 5 (because otherwise it would be The Lodger, but Rory isn’t even in that episode).

My answer is: The Pandorica Opens/Big Bang

30 Days of the Ponds Day 2: Favorite Quote (Pond to Pond)

iamsonotahipster:

[Rory in Roman armor, crying while holding his baby daughter]

Rory Pond-Williams: Oh god, I was going to be cool. I wanted to be cool. Look at me.

Amy Pond-Williams: You’re okay. Crying Roman with a baby: definitely cool.

The Doctor: Ew. Kissing and crying. I’ll be back in a bit.

I just had a nasty thought.

We’ve always assumed that River is the narrator in the “Tick Tock” song. But halfway through the song, the narration appears to switch, referring to River in the third person:

Beginning:

Tick tock goes the clock
And what now shall we play?
Tick tock until the day
That thou shalt marry me

When Narration Switches:

Tick tock goes the clock
He cradled her and he rocked her
Tick tock goes the clock
Even for the Doctor

Maybe the narrator isn’t River to the Doctor. Maybe it’s Amy and Rory.

This line (Tick tock until the day, That thou shalt marry me) could be referring to Amy and Rory’s wedding, which we know is a bit Timey Wimey (several theories imply that The Doctor went to the Pond’s wedding either before or after he was dying, which is why he changed into a tux).

Also, the line “We laughed at fate and mourned her” could apply to the way Amy and Rory often beat the odds, and also to the loss of their baby. Again with “He cradled and he rocked her”.

I REALLY hope, however, the narrators aren’t Amy and Rory, because there is that nasty little line that says “Tick tock and all too soon, you and I must die”.

I should mention that I’m just having fun here; I enjoy over-analyzing stuff. It’s a bit chilling though, isn’t it?

This might be over-analyzing just a BIT too far but…

Has anyone else noticed a motif of “stairs” in Doctor Who? Particularly Season 6?

There’s still that staircase to nowhere in Amy Pond’s house (it’s only two stories with no attic from the outside, but three stories on the inside?)

In Night Terrors, they fight the dolls off on stairs.

The first time we see The Doctor, Amy, and Rory in The God Complex, they are on a stair case.

In The Lodger, there is a staircase leading up to the perception-filter-ed upper floor.

There’s a cut of The Doctor looking up the stairs in Closing Time.

There are loads of other scenes with stairs (climbing the towers in Vampires in Venice, the upper level in The Almost People, The Doctor descending the stairs in Let’s Kill Hitler, climbing the stairs in the British Museum in Vincent and The Doctor, etc) but I thought these were the most obvious. Clearly, not EVERY staircase means something, that would be like going crazy every time you see a pair of shoes in Doctor Who. I just feel that sometimes there is specific emphasis on stairs in certain shots and important scenes that occur on stairs.

There have also been several occurances of elevators (lifts) leading to places they shouldn’t (a la Night Terrors, Closing Time, etc).

It’s probably over-analyzing, but I think it’s interesting!

disclaimer: NONE of these images are mine! They are all linked to where I found them!

Ode to The Ponds

The Legs and The Nose,

Everyone companion knows

That their time will always come.

———

So now that you’re done,

Be happy you’ve won

The best exit they’ve ever had.

———

It may have been short

But it’s death that you thwart,

And sadness and pain and betrayal.

———

And what good times you’ve had!

The good and the bad,

Adventures, stories to share.

———

The waiting was hard,

But don’t disregard,

The people you helped on the way.

———

Your child was lost,

And now you feel tossed,

But you’re as best as the rest have been.

———

In Leadworth and Rome,

Now it’s time to go home

But know you’ll be truly missed

———

Your story’s not done,

Though The Doctor has run,

It’s the Ponds that we’ll always be fond of.
